71 percent of Russia’s citizens believe that the main goal in a woman’s life is to become a mother and a good housewife, according to a survey by the Nafi Analytical Center, with the support of the Women’s Forum Council Eurasian and Google.

“71 percent of Russians share the opinion that a woman’s main goal is to be a mother and a good housewife,” says the study, which also details that 89 percent of women in Russia consider men to be He is the one who must support the family.

Only 45 percent of those surveyed estimate that women should support themselves with their own efforts. “A third of Russians consider that women must choose between having a professional career or having a family and this point of view is more widespread among those who already have children,” the study shows.

As for inequality of wages and job opportunities, about 40 percent of Russians agree that it is easier for men to move up, and only 6 percent believe it is easier for women.

The survey shows that 24 percent of the surveyed men consider that women work worse in management positions, an opinion shared by 17 percent of the surveyed women.

According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, the study is based on data from a survey conducted in 2019 among 1,811 people over the age of fourteen residing in eight federal districts, 46 regions and 150 localities of Russia, with a margin of error of less than 3 , 4 percent.
