Polls take a turn and support the impeachment process against Trump

The polls have turned around after the launch of the preliminary steps to begin the process of parliamentary dismissal against the US president, Donald Trump, and the opinion that this political trial should be launched is already a majority.

Specifically, 49 percent support the ‘impeachment’ compared to 46 percent who reject it, according to the NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist study, which means ten more points of support for the process than in the same April survey , when the report of the special prosecutor Robert Mueller was published.

Another study by Politico-Morning Consult reflects a seven-point increase in support for impeachment (36 percent) compared to those who reject it (49 percent). The variation refers to the same study conducted last week.

The Hill-Harris X survey also assumes twelve points of increase, from 35 to 47 percent, while 42 percent reject the ‘impeachment’. The Harvard CAPS-Harris study published last Thursday, before the internal complaint was made public in the secret services against Trump, reveals a 50-50 tie over the political trial.

However, Republican sources stress that the increase in support for the ‘impeachment’ is mainly due to a change between the Democratic electorate, who has followed the Democratic spokeswoman in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, who until recently refused to open trial Trump politically for strategic reasons, given the closeness of the presidential elections in November 2020.

Trump’s controversial call to the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, in which the US president asked the Ukrainian to do him a “favor” and do everything possible for the Attorney General to investigate Hunter Biden, son of former US vice president Joe Biden has led the Democrats to promote a procedure to initiate a process of impeachment against the current tenant of the White House.

The initiative must first be approved in the House of Representatives, of a Democratic majority, and in the Senate, of a Republican majority, but the mere existence of the investigation could shake the Trump Presidency because of the revelations that could be assumed.
