Sports, .- English Paul Casey revalidated on Sunday the title in the Valspar Championship, golf tournament PGA Tour played since Thursday at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor (Florida, United States).
Paul Casey achieved his third title in the PGA Tour, in which in 2009 he won the Houston Open and last year the Valspar. In total the Englishman, 41 years old, accumulates 19 victories as a professional.
The player of Cheltenham won the battle that this Sunday fought with the American Jason Kokrak, who claimed his first trophy in the PGA Tour after the two he won in 2011 in the Nationwide Tour and that this Sunday he achieved a spectacular hole in one.
Casey took the victory in Palm Harbor for the second year in a row – the first player to revalidate the title in this championship – to complete the tournament with 276 hits (8 under par). The last day he delivered a 72 (+1) card.
Kokrak and South African Louis Oosthuizen were tied for an impact, and two were also made by American Bubba Watson and South Korean Im Sung-jae.
The world number one, the American Dustin Johnson, ended a long streak of 14 consecutive rounds below 70 strokes. He signed 74 (+3) on the last day to finish in sixth place tied with Spaniard Jon Rahm and his compatriot Ryan Armor.
Next week will be the World Cup ‘match play’, second test of the WGC series of 2019 and will take place at the Austin Country Club, in Texas. (EFE)
