They reject the accusation of Ashley Judd against Harvey Weinstein for sexual harassment

A federal judge in Los Angeles today rejected the part of the lawsuit by actress Ashley Judd against Harvey Weinstein that pointed to the producer for an alleged crime of sexual harassment, according to the specialized media Variety.

Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the central district of California, who today dismissed this accusation of the actress, had already rejected it in September when considering that, at the time of the alleged crime, the artist did not have a professional relationship with the producer.

However, the magistrate did allow today that the rest of the complaint, filed in April 2018 and including claims for defamation and economic damage, continue its course in court.

According to Judd’s story, Weinstein tried to outdo himself during a business meeting that took place in a hotel in Beverly Hills (California) between the end of 1996 and the beginning of 1997.

The actress attended a meeting with Weinstein, who received him in a robe and asked him to give him a massage, which Judd refused.
She also asked him to help her choose her clothes and see how she showered, two propositions that the actress also rejected.

Given Judd’s refusal, Weinstein allegedly began a campaign of defamation against the actress in Hollywood to prevent her from gaining access to important roles in, for example, the films of “The Lord of the Rings” directed by Peter Jackson.

“I lost professional opportunities, I lost money, I lost status and prestige and power over my career as a direct result of being sexually harassed and having rejected sexual harassment,” Judd told ABC in May.

In response to these allegations, Weinstein defended in July that the interpreter waited too many years to file her complaint.

“The plaintiff certainly knew of the alleged sexual harassment and its traumas, if any, at the time of the meeting at the hotel,” he said.

“She also knew that she had not been selected for ‘The Lord of the Rings’ by the time filming began,” she added of a trilogy whose first film, “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” debuted in 2001 . (EFEUSA) .-
