The Spanish players Ricky Rubio and Willy Hernangómez have completed their best performances of the season, although they have not avoided the defeats of the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans, while the Los Angeles Clippers have also succumbed to the Utah Jazz (96-114).
In Minneapolis, Rubio was finally able to play the game he wanted and added a great ‘double-double’ of 20 points and 13 assists, but it was not enough to prevent his team’s defeat in overtime against the Indiana Pacers (128-134 ).
The ‘Wolves’ had a triple on the horn of Anthony Edwards to win, but the rim spat his shot and in overtime the Pacers were clearly superior led by the spectacular ‘triple-double’ of former Unicaja player Domantas Sabonis (36 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists).
Similarly, Willy Hernangómez also achieved a remarkable double-double (11 points and 17 rebounds), but his Pelicans lost in a tight game against the Portland Trail Blazers (124-126). Zion Williamson’s career scorer (36) was sterile against a rival led by Damian Lillard (43 and 16 assists).
Finally, Serge Ibaka contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds for the Clippers, who fell to the fittest team in the entire NBA and Western Conference leader, Utah Jazz (96-114), who added their ninth consecutive victory. Again without Kawhi Leonard or Paul George, the Angelenos were outmatched by Donovan Mitchell (24) and Rudy Gobert (23 and 20 rebounds).
