Date Set for New Fire Station 33 Grand Opening Ceremony

St. Cloud, Fla.- Fire Chief Joe Silvestris and the entire staff of the St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department invite the public and media members to attend the grand opening ceremony of Fire Station 33, on Saturday, July 21st.

The ceremony, which begins at 9:00 a.m., will be held at 3755 Friars Cove Ln. There will be an open house following the ribbon cutting portion of the ceremony.

Station 33 was designed with several key features in mind: safety, cancer prevention, education and open and private space for team members. With cancer being a growing concern in the fire service, Station 33 was designed to help cut down on that risk.

The facility includes an extractor to help decontaminate gear, as well as a breezeway to prevent vehicle exhaust from getting into living quarters
