Davis and Alonso sound the A’s bats


Rangers Rajai Davis and first baseman Yonder Alonso hit home runs and the Oakland Athletics “whittled” 5-0 to the Cleveland Indians.

Davis (3) sent the ball to the street in the fifth episode, with no runners ahead.
While Alonso (21) did it in the fifth inning by punishing the pitches of Venezuelan starter Carlos Carrasco, with no runners ahead, with two outs in the inning.

The win was for starter Sonny Gray (5-4) in six innings, allowed two hits, gave a base and struck out five foes.

The Carrasco (10-4) in the work of six innings and a third, allowed punishment of six hits, two home runs and five runs.
