Governor of Puerto Rico travels to Orlando to guide community displaced by hurricane

The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, traveled today to Orlando (Florida, USA) where he will meet with the Puerto Rican community participating in the Transitional Temporary Accommodation Program (TSA) offered by the Federal Government after the onslaught of Hurricane Maria on the island.

At the request of the Government of Puerto Rico, the Federal Agency for Emergency Management (FEMA) extended this program until June 30, 2018.

Given the proximity of this date, the first executive and representatives of FEMA will guide the beneficiaries of the TSA program on the completion of the program and possible housing alternatives for participating families returning to Puerto Rico.

During the orientation, La Fortaleza reported in a statement today, accompanied by the Secretary of Public Security, Héctor Pesquera and the director of the Florida Regional Office of the Administration of Federal Affairs of Puerto Rico in Washington, D.C., Ilia Torres.

In addition, the governor will meet with members of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to promote the island as an ideal place to establish and expand businesses.

Secretary of the State Department, Luis Gerardo Rivera, will act as interim governor until the first executive returns to the island tonight.
