Roberto Cavalli firm joins Antonio Banderas at Miami Fashion Week

The fashion brand Roberto Cavalli will present a special collection next Friday in Miami during the charity gala of which Spanish actor Antonio Banderas is host for the second year in a row at Miami Fashion Week.

Since the year 2016, when the MIAFW was relaunched, Antonio Banderas, who has launched his own brand of menswear, is linked to this appointment with the fashion and design of which he is honorary president.

Last year, in addition to giving a master class, Banderas presided over a gala in order to raise funds for the Miami Children’s Health Foundation.

This year the charity gala will be celebrated again, which will be attended by 250 guests who will be able to witness the parade of a special collection of 25 high fashion models designed by Paul Surridge, creative director of Roberto Cavalli, who reinterprets the concept of luxury without losing signs of brand identity.

One of those models, a night suit, will be auctioned at the end of the gala, which will benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation and Tears and Favors, the latter founded by Banderas.

The catwalk will be inaugurated on the 30th by Venezuelan designer Oscar Carvallo, who opened his first Prêt à Porter store in Paris in 2003, presented his first haute couture collection in 2013 and two years later opened his boutique in the Design District of Miami.

The last parade of this edition of MIAFW, which will take place on Sunday, June 3, will correspond to another Venezuelan, Ángel Sánchez, based in New York, where he has studied since the 90s, and has dressed celebrities like Eva Longoria, Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep.

The program also includes lectures by experts on an industry that has a value of 2.3 trillion dollars.

According to MIAFW, consumers around the world collectively buy about 80,000 million garments a year, which means an increase of 400% in the last two decades.
