The Minister of Labor of the Dominican Republic and president of the Ibero-American Social Security Organization (OISS), Luis Miguel De Camps García, will chair the First Forum on the challenges of labor formalization in Ibero-America, an event to be held in Bogotá, Colombia, on 20th and 21st of the current month.
The forum is organized by the OISS with the aim of identifying and implementing public policies that promote labor formalization and affiliation to social security systems. During his dissertation, De Camps García will analyze how the high labor informality impacts fundamental aspects for economic development, such as access to formal lines of credit and/or other types of government measures or poor access to social protection for workers. informal.
The panels will also feature presentations by labor ministers from Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Panama, Paraguay, Costa Rica and Portugal, as well as executives from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), of the International Organization of Labor (ILO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The event will be opened by Mrs. Gina Riaño Barón, General Secretary of the OISS, and will be attended by the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.
