After more than 100 days since Joe Biden became president of the United States, more than half of Americans have assured that they approve of the president’s management, although they emphasize that he should try to bring positions closer to the Republicans to continue with his Administration and reject largely its migration policy so far.
A poll published by ‘The Washington Post’-ABC News indicates that Biden has a 52 percent approval rating, while another by NBC News gives him 53 percent and a last Fox News a 54 percent, all disclosed this Sunday.
As recalled by the television network ABC News, this is the third lowest rating for a president in office since Harry Truman. Since then, only Gerald Ford – at 48 percent in 1978 – and Donald Trump – at 47 percent in 2017 – have obtained a lower approval rating.
Biden, who since taking office has faced considerable challenges, including managing the pandemic, something that respondents have mostly approved of, or the migration crisis with the southern border, which has mostly not been to the liking of citizens so far, according to the survey by ‘The Washington Post’-ABC News.
The president obtains 65 percent approval for his pandemic aid package, 64 percent for his management of the health crisis and 58 percent for his proposal to raise corporate taxes.
As for the approved infrastructure package, it is 52 percent approved and the management of the migratory situation obtains only 37 percent.
Regarding collaboration with Republicans, 60 percent of those surveyed believe that they should “try to win the support of Republicans,” while 30 percent say they should “try to pass proposals without major changes.”
