US President Donald Trump acknowledged this Friday that his patience with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, is running out “and fast,” in a new warning regarding the lack of progress in the White House-sponsored peace negotiations with Ukraine.
“It takes two to tango,” Trump said during an interview on Fox News, in which he once again floated a threat that has yet to materialize, as almost a month has passed since he first hosted Putin in Alaska and then Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington.
The conflict has been marked in recent hours by the incursion of Russian drones into Poland, an incident about which Trump said on Thursday that “it could have been a mistake,” contrary to the opinion of other NATO partners and the Polish authorities themselves, who assume it was intentional.
“I’m not going to defend anyone, but the fact is that they were shot down and fell into airspace,” the US president simply stated in his interview.
