Vicente Fernández’s health in recent months
Throughout his life, Fernández had overcome various diseases, such as prostate cancer in 2002, the removal of a tumor in the liver in 2012, a year later a thrombosis that made him lose his voice, and surgery to remove some abdominal hernias in 2015.

Last July he was admitted to the same hospital due to urinary tract problems, but there were no major complications.

However, in early August ‘El Charro de Huentitán’ had a fall that caused a neck injury. Later it was reported that, after this accident, Fernández suffered a spinal cord injury to the cervical spine.

Due to this, he had to undergo emergency surgery, and after the operation it was reported that his health was ‘serious but stable’, and that after the operation he was receiving ventilatory assistance and critical patient care in the hospital. intensive therapy area.

On August 13, it was reported that he suffered from Guillain-Barré syndrome, a condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves. Symptoms range from weakness and tingling in the lower extremities and can lead to paralysis; Vicente Fernández Jr. clarified that this condition was independent of his fall in recent days.

On August 15, he underwent a tracheostomy so that he could breathe better, as he had needed respiratory assistance, and 15 days later he underwent a gastrostomy to place a feeding tube directly into his stomach, as he had difficulty ingesting food. itself.

A month later, on September 20, they would have released a statement through the social networks of the interpreter of Hermoso Cariño to communicate that his “neurological state is awake, with constant interaction with his family and medical team”, without further progress in your recovery.

Rumors arrive
By October 12, rumors began to emerge about the supposed death of Vicente Fernández, but the family denied it through their social networks: “We regret that some media without communication with the family and much less medical information, since this is transmitted directly to the family, maliciously speculate on the health and condition of Mr. Vicente Fernández ”.

On the other hand, Fernández Jr. strictly condemned that these news mislead the public and alluded to the magazine TvNotas, which published the version allegedly based on statements by a friend of the Fernández Abarca family: “It is disgusting that they deceive the public in such a way . And I hold it together with my whole family, ”he stated in the message.

On October 27, it was reported that El Charro de Huentitán left intensive care and was transferred to a conventional room in the hospital where he was, reported stable and in pulmonary rehabilitation.

However, by November 30 it was reported that he was again referred to intensive care due to pneumonia.

“Mr. Vicente Fernández, at the weekend presented inflammation of his lower respiratory tract, for which he again required to continue with respiratory support, adjustment of his medication and he was transferred to intensive care to maintain greater vigilance in the event of any eventuality”, he describes the notification.

This Thursday, Gerardo Fernández, Vicente Fernández’s son, shared during a press conference that his father “is (already) very tired”, since he had been in the hospital for more than four months and, despite this, he was still clinging to the life.

Given the circumstances, all of his children were transferred to Hospital Country 2000 in Guadalajara, where they remained attentive to new news about the singer’s health.
