Paul McCartney blames John Lennon for the Beatles split: “I didn’t bring about the dissolution”

Paul McCartney, the ex-member of the Beatles, has decided to settle once and for all one of the most recurrent controversies in the history of music, assuring that the person responsible for the dissolution of the Liverpool quartet was John Lennon.

In an interview with the program ‘This Cultural Life’ on BBC Radio 4, the singer was asked about his role in the separation of the band, to which he angrily replied: “Do not continue around, I was not the one who caused the separation”.

“John came into the room one day and said, ‘he left the Beatles'”, the artist explained before rhetorically asking the interviewer: “Is that causing the separation or not?”.

McCartney has further noted that if it had been up to him, he would rather have moved on with the band, as, in his opinion, “we were still doing pretty good things.” Lennon legally formalized his withdrawal from training during Christmas 1974, when he was at the Disney World hotel.

Some sources have pointed out that the dissolution of the Beatles was a consequence of the band members, and especially McCartney, not accepting Lennon’s partner, Yoko Ono, who accompanied the composer of ‘Imagine’ in all his performances. and public interventions.
