Death toll from Islamic State bombing at Kabul airport rises to 170

At least 170 people have died, including 13 US military personnel, and more than 200 have been injured in the attack perpetrated by the Islamic State on Thursday during the evacuations at the Kabul airport, according to CNN, citing sources from the Ministry. Afghan Health.

The Al Jazeera network has received information that the US military who are contributing to the evacuation tasks, already in the last days before the final withdrawal on August 31, are preparing for the possibility of new attacks in the midst of the chaotic extractions.

For now, hundreds of people have once again gathered at the airport in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, in search of an exit from the country despite the panic caused by the double attack.

According to the Afghan portal Ariana, the door of Abbey Gate, the epicenter of the attacks, remains empty of people, who instead remain concentrated in the vicinity of the airport facility, according to images captured by the Tolo News chain.
