The coronavirus pandemic adds 535,000 cases and exceeds 55 million infections worldwide

The United States registers more than 166,000 positives in the last 24 hours and exceeds 247,000 deaths

The new coronavirus pandemic accumulates more than 55 million cases around the world after adding more than 535,000 infections in the last 24 hours, according to the balance published this Tuesday by Johns Hopkins University.

Specifically, 535,993 new cases have been registered worldwide in the last day, while the global death toll stands at 1,327,500. More than 35.36 million people have overcome the disease around the world.

The United States has registered in recent days the worst case data of the entire pandemic and computes in this balance more than 166,000 positives, which accounts for 11.2 million infections in global terms. The fatalities from COVID-19 on US soil rise to 247,220.

India, on the other hand, has managed to reduce the rate of infections in recent weeks, although it already exceeds 8.87 million cases and accumulates 130,519 deaths. The Asian country is the one that has registered the most recoveries to date, more than 8.29 million.

Brazil remains in third position in this classification, which is configured based on data from 190 countries and territories with coronavirus cases. The South American giant has registered more than 5.87 million cases and 166,014 deaths.

FRANCE ACCUMULATES MORE THAN TWO MILLION CONTAGES
France returns to fourth global position on Tuesday, ahead of Russia with a total of more than two million cases with 45,122 fatalities, while in Russian territory there are 1.93 million infected people and 33,184 deaths.

Spain is next, with more than 1.49 million cases and 41,253 fatalities, ahead of the United Kingdom, which has 1.39 million people with coronavirus and 52,240 deaths. Argentina is the second country with the most cases in Latin America, with 1.31 million infected, and accumulates 35,727 deaths from the disease.

ITALY MOVES TO NINTH GLOBAL POSITION
Italy is also over one million positives, with 1.2 million infections and 45,733 deaths; Colombia, with 1.2 million positives and 34,223 fatalities; and Mexico, which exceeds one million cases with 98,861 deaths.

Next, Peru registers 937,011 infected people and 35,231 fatalities, compared to 819,127 infected and 12,833 deaths that are counted in Germany. Iran registers 775,121 cases and 41,979 deaths, while South Africa, the most affected country in Africa, registers 752,269 infected and 20,314 deaths.

Poland, which has chained several infection records in recent weeks, accumulates 733,788 cases of COVID-19 with 10,491 deaths, while Ukraine –561,581 positives and 10,168 deaths–, Belgium –537,871 infections and 14,616 deaths–, Chile –532,604 positives and 14,863 deaths – and Iraq –521,542 cases and 11,712 fatalities – also figure above the half million threshold.

With more than 400,000 positives are Indonesia, with 470,648 positives and 15,296 fatalities; Czech Republic, with 465,263 cases and 6,416 deaths; The Netherlands, with 459,837 infections and 8,603 deaths; Bangladesh, with 434,472 cases and 6,215 deaths; Turkey, with 417,594 positives and 11,601 deaths; and the Philippines, with 409,574 infected and 7,862 fatalities.

Already in the range of 300,000 infections are Romania (365,212); Pakistan (361,082), Saudi Arabia (353,566), Israel (325,035) and Canada (305,449). While in the range of 200,000 to 300,000 infections are Morocco (296,189), Switzerland (269,974), Portugal (225,672), Nepal (210,973) and Austria (208,613).

Above the 100,000 positives are Ecuador (180,676); Sweden (177,355); United Arab Emirates (151,554); Jordan (149,539); Panama (147,667); Hungary (147,456); Bolivia (143,371); Kuwait (137,239); Qatar (136,028); Dominican Republic (134,203); Costa Rica (124,592); Kazakhstan (121,653); Oman (120,718); Japan (120,169); Armenia (118,870); Belarus (115,448); Guatemala (115,032); Egypt (111,009); Lebanon (106,446); Honduras (103,239); Ethiopia (103,056) and Bulgaria (101,770).

China, the country where the pandemic originated, has 91,872 infected and 4,742 fatalities.
