Netflix cancels Hilary Swank’s ‘Away’ series

Hilary Swank’s space adventure comes to an end. Netflix does not renew ‘Away’ for a second season. The cancellation occurs only six weeks after its premiere on the platform, which arrived on September 4.

Created by Andrew Hinderaker (‘Penny Dreadful’) and Jessica Goldberg (‘Parenthood’), ‘Away’ explored the drama astronauts experience when they must leave everything they love behind to embark on a space mission. The first season had a run of ten episodes.

The double Oscar winner for ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and ‘Million Dollar Baby’ played Emma Green, a fierce astronaut will have to leave her life and family behind to man the first international mission to Mars. Along with the actress, Josh Charles, Vivian Wu, Mark Ivanir, Ato Essandoh, Ray Panthaki and Talitha Bateman completed the cast.

Netflix has had a season full of cancellations. The announcement of the non-renewal of ‘Away’ joins those of ‘GLOW’, ‘Two very lost bullets’,’ The Dark Crystal: The age of resistance ‘,’ Altered Carbon ‘,’ The Society ‘and’ This shit surpasses me’.
