Pau Gasol remembers Kobe Bryant in the Lakers title: “This is for you, brother”

The Spanish basketball player Pau Gasol has remembered his former partner and friend Kobe Bryant, who died last January, in the achievement of the NBA title of the Los Angeles Lakers, which the team achieved this morning in the sixth game against Miami Heat.

“This is for you, brother; for you, Gianna; for Vanessa, for Natalia, for Bianka and for Capri,” he wrote on the social network Twitter. “Congratulations to everyone, the team, Jeanie Buss and the Lakers family for winning the 17th championship!”

The Catalan pivot was “devastated” after learning of the death of his “older brother” Kobe Bryant on January 26 in a helicopter accident in Calabasas (California), in which his daughter Gianna and seven other people also died.

On September 10, the oldest of the Gasols and his wife, Catherine McDonnell, celebrated the birth of their first daughter, whom they named Elisabet Gianna, in tribute to the late daughter of the ‘Black Mamba’.

This morning, the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA title, number 17 in its history, after winning with one of the best performances of the ‘Playoffs’ in the sixth game of the Finals against Miami Heat (106-93).
