Lady Gaga and her crazy masks sweep the MTV VMAs 2020

The MTV VMAs 2020 were held on Sunday, August 30, an edition that will go down in history for having taken place in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony took place in different enclaves of New York, in all the performances social distance was maintained and some artists even wore masks. This was the case with Lady Gaga, who went one step further and turned this protective measure into another fashion accessory.

In total, the artist wore five masks throughout the night, the same number of awards she received. To collect the award for best collaboration for Rain On Me with Ariana Grande, she wore a pink gas mask, the work of Cecilio Castrillo.

Later she took the stage to receive the award for song of the year, when she surprised with a mask with horns designed by Lance Victor Moore. The interpreter won the artist of the year award and she did it with a metallic mask from Maison Met.

The most original model arrived during her performance, when she appeared with a mask with sound-sensitive lights created by Diego Montoya and Smooth Technology. The star closed the night by posing with her five awards, a photo for which she chose a punk-style mask by Michael Ngo.

The masks of the author of Bad Romance were the most commented on among viewers, who turned their opinions on Twitter.

Lady Gaga won three awards for Rain on Me, her song with Ariana Grande: best collaboration, song of the year, and best photography. The singer was also named the best artist of the year and won the first Tricon award, which recognizes the trajectory of an artist in three or more different disciplines.
