Trump Calls Washington Protesters “Thugs”: “They Are Anarchists And Agitators”

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has called again this Friday “thugs” to the people who are congregating in Washington to protest against the racism and the police brutality and has insisted that they are “anarchists and agitators”.

“They are not protesters. They are anarchists, agitators, rioters, looters,” Trump said. “It has nothing to do with George Floyd. They have no idea who he is. If you ask them ‘Who is George Floyd? They would answer’ I don’t know ‘,” he said at a campaign event in New Hampshire.

The president has returned to blame the protests on the Democrats, since he has assured that they only originate “in cities controlled by the Democrats,” according to the Fox News network.

Likewise, Trump has valued the attitude of the Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, whom he has described as a “puppet” of the radical left who “does not even know if he is alive.” “I think I have the honor to run against the worst candidate in the Democratic Party,” he said.

Later, and through his account on the social network Twitter, the US president has been alerted to the situation in Portland and has assured that if the “incompetent” mayor, Ted Wheeler, “does not take control”, the Government will take care of it.

“If you do not take control of your city and stop the anarchists, agitators, rioters and looters, causing great danger to innocent people, we will go in and take care of affairs as it should have been done 100 days ago,” he said. .

Thousands of people have gathered this Friday next to the Lincoln Memorial located on the National Mall in Washington to protest against racism and demand that justice be done.

The demonstration, which takes place on the 57th anniversary of the 1963 March for Labor and Freedom in which Martin Luther King delivered his famous ‘I have a dream’ speech, will feature the intervention of relatives of African American citizens who have been shot or killed by police officers.

The march follows several days of rioting in the state of Wisconsin after Jacob Blake, a black man, was shot seven times in the back by a police officer in broad daylight while trying to mediate a fight between two women.

The case is also particularly controversial because US security forces have detained a 17-year-old teenager for allegedly killing two protesters and seriously injuring a third with a semiautomatic weapon during the riots.
