Los Angeles (USA), – The legendary Magic Johnson announced on Tuesday the resignation of the president of operations of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Johnson took office in March 2017 after the team dismissed Mitch Kupchak as general manager and dismissed Jim Buss as executive vice president of basketball operations.

The Lakers are 37-44 so far this season and are eliminated from the playoffs in the Western Conference despite having achieved last summer, in the free agent market, star forward LeBron James.

Johnson, who last February could not complete the transfer he wanted from center Anthony Davis, of the New Orleans Pelicans, acknowledged that not having achieved it was his “responsibility”, just as if the team could not play in the playoffs, something that he considered as a sport “failure” (EFE).
