San Juan, .- The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló, participated today in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon that took place as the main roads of the Caribbean capital and its historic center.
“Today participating in the @ironmanpr team category, thanks to my teammates, Roberto Seguí and Carlos Negroni, who accompanied me during the competition this year!”, Said the Puerto Rican Chief Executive through his account in the social network of twitter.
Rossello accompanied his cometary on twitter with some photos in which he is seen in sports attire in full participation in this demanding competition that every year brings to the Caribbean capital many of the best athletes in the region.
“Sharing in the @ironmanpr.This event promotes the sport of triathlon and establishes our island as a world destination to practice this discipline.Thanks to all the people who make Iron Man a reality!”, Stressed the governor.
Some of the photos on twitter show Rosselló shaking hands with participants in the event and another with his wife, the first lady, Beatriz Rossello, who photographs him while the governor runs by the residence of the chief executive, La Fortaleza, in the historic center of Old San Juan.
According to the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico, nearly 1,200 athletes participated today in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon, with a total of 700 visitors from outside Puerto Rico, many of them arriving from the United States.
The competition began with 1.2 miles (1.9 kilometers) by swimming, 56 miles (90 kilometers) on the bike and 13.1 miles (21 kilometers) to complete the race running.
The trial was notable for including the participation of three Puerto Rican Parkinson’s patients as a sign of improvement and how the sport can help fight slabs like this serious disease. (EFEUSA)
