At least 25 Central Americans die when a truck overturns in southern Mexico

 Mexico, .- At least 25 Central American migrants died and 29 were injured when the truck on which they traveled on the Ixtapa-Soyaló highway overturned on Thursday, informed the Office of the Attorney General of the Mexican state of Chiapas, bordering Guatemala.

The accident of the truck, which went off the road and overturned, occurred around 18.00 local time (24.00 GMT) at the height of the Bombaná River, about 5 kilometers from the colony (neighborhood) Francisco Sarabia, in the municipality of Soyaló, explained the Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.

After the accident, the authorities activated the protocol of comprehensive assistance to migrants.

The Central Americans, of various nationalities that have not been specified, moved in the open box of a 3-ton cargo truck that did not have registration plates, the authorities abounded.

So far, 25 dead and 29 injured have been recorded, he said.
