“Everyone (the black interpreters of ‘Black Panther’) know what it is to be told that there is no screen or stage for you to appear, we know what it is to be the tail and not the head. We went to work every day (…) because we knew we had something special to give to the world, “he explained.
This successful Marvel film, which grossed 1,346 million dollars worldwide, continues to open the way for diversity in Hollywood after being the first superhero film with a black protagonist.
In addition, “Black Panther” this week became the first superhero movie to be nominated for an Oscar for best feature film.
In a season of Hollywood awards quite open and without clear favorites, Rami Malek and Glenn Close today confirmed their credentials for the Oscars by taking the statuettes to the best actor and best actress, respectively.
“I thank Queen and Freddie Mercury,” said the protagonist of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
