The Sony studio is preparing a sequel to the movie “Venom”, one of the great blockbusters of 2018, which would again feature Tom Hardy as protagonist, informed the specialist media Variety today.
Sources close to the project said that Sony has hired Kelly Marcel, one of the writers of “Venom”, to write his continuation.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer and inspired by the famous evil of Spider-Man stories, “Venom” told how an organism coming from space granted extraordinary powers to the journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), who was going through a delicate moment in his life after the break with his fiancée Anne Weying (Michelle Williams).
Although it did not receive particularly good reviews, the film has so far raised 855.6 million dollars worldwide that place it as the sixth highest grossing film in 2018, according to the data from the specialized portal Box Office Mojo.
Along with Tom Hardy, co-star Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson, who appeared in the first feature film in a small scene after the titles of credit, would return to the second part of “Venom.” (EFEUSA).
