The Democratic leaders of the United States demanded the same “airtime” today to respond to the message that President Donald Trump will give to the country on Tuesday.

The leader of the Democratic minority in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, and the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, referred to the decision of television networks to convey Trump’s message and called for equal treatment in case it is full of “malice and misinformation.”

Trump announced that on Tuesday he will address the nation on prime-time television to discuss the “crisis” his country is experiencing on the border with Mexico, where he insists on raising a wall.

“I am pleased to inform you that I will address the Nation about the humanitarian crisis and national security on our southern border,” Trump said on his Twitter account, while specifying that the message will be at 9:00 pm local time on Tuesday (02:00 am). GMT on Wednesday).

The Democrats defended in a statement released on Monday that on the first day of the new Congress the House of Representatives passed partisan legislation that honors its responsibility to protect the American people with resources for smart and effective border security solutions.
In addition, they described the Trump Wall as “useless” and a “waste.”

In this context, they noted that Trump continues to demand that US taxpayers pay at least $ 5.7 billion for the wall, which, they anticipated, can not be approved by any of the houses of Congress nor is Mexico paying.

As a result of the dispute over the border wall, the United States federal administration has been partially closed since December 22.

Negotiations between Republicans and Democrats in Congress were blocked by Trump’s demand that the budget bill include a budget of more than $ 5.6 billion to finance the border wall.

The immovable attitude of Trump regarding the construction of the wall, which was one of his star electoral promises, and the continuous refusal on the part of the democrats to agree on this issue, has led the Government to be partially closed 17 days so far.

This situation has caused some media to catalog the current situation as the worst in the US government since Trump’s arrival at the White House, an opinion that the president has not liked.
