The American Kevin Na, with a card of 62 strokes, eight under par, led the first round of the Fort Worth Invitational tournament of the PGA, which takes place at the Colonial Golf Course.
Na was safe during the whole tour that concluded with an eagle that he made in the first hole and then achieve another six birdies without doing any bogey.
“I felt full of confidence with the punches, and the ball was placed in perfect positions so that I could make a great journey,” said Na, 34, born in South Korea, who has American citizenship.
Na, who ranks 59th in the world ranking, has yet to win any title so far this season.
The second place was for the American Charley Hoffman, who had one more stroke (63) after presenting a card with seven birdies.
The Argentine Emilio Grillo and the Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas shared the third place with two other players who had a record of 64 strokes, six under par.
The Spanish Jon Rahm did not have his best route and he finished in the 31st place with 68 strokes, two under par, after completing the course with five birdies and three bogeys, which he did in holes 6, 12 and 16.
Another Latin American golfer, the 19-year old Joaquin Niemann, finished in the same position as Rahm with the same record.
While the Mexican Abraham Ancer occupied the 61st place with 70 strokes, the par of the field.
The tournament that awards prizes of 7.1 million dollars.
