Romeo Santos conquers Los Angeles with his sexy and melancholic bachata

With a triumphant download of the sexy and melancholic bachata that has made him a huge star for the Latino audience, Romeo Santos won last night Los Angeles in the first of his two concerts at The Forum with which he faces the final leg in the United States. his “Golden Tour” tour.

The New Yorker with Dominican and Puerto Rican descent landed on Good Friday in the Californian city to present his latest album, “Golden” (2017), in which he brings bachata closer to urban genres such as hip-hop or reggaeton.

Known as “the king of bachata”, with a crown as a microphone stand at the concerts in case anyone forgot his title, Romeo Santos jumped today at The Forum dressed in a jacket and jeans, plus sunglasses, and rendered to the public angelino from the beginning linking without pause and with its fine and acute voice “Double Edge”, “Perjury” and “I hate”.

The songs of Santos, from his artistic beginnings in Aventura to his acclaimed solo career, can be grouped into two main themes, always with bachata as an essential rhythm.

On the one hand, the melancholy stories of romantic disappointments and broken hearts full of sighs for a beloved; on the other, the songs of sexual conquests until dawn and of men who seem to seduce women wherever they tread.

With these clear rules of the game, “Eres mía” was one of the most talked-about songs of the evening, while “Necio” provided a timid touch of rock (the studio version of this song had the guitar of Carlos Santana).

It did not matter that they were old songs like “Su venno” from the times of Aventura or as recent as “Imitadora” from their last album, since the audience responded, without exception, with shouts and applause for each song.

“It’s a pleasure to be with so many beautiful people tonight,” he exclaimed, “here he came to enjoy, to party, to hesitate, more than a concert this is a celebration of Latinos.” Where is my Latino race?

The singer assured that his best live moments are due to his fans, so tonight he invented a talent contest to find two viewers who could replace the parts of Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee in their single “Bella y sensual” .

This musical competition was the most spontaneous and fun moment of the night, with the aspirants trying, between mistakes and quite a few out of tune notes, to be up to the challenge, until Romeo Santos, in an ironic way, gave his verdict at the end: ” The question is who screwed it over. ”

Accompanied by thirteen people on the stage between musicians and choristers, who had to overcome the sometimes annoying echo of The Forum, Santos showed his well-known collection of sensual winks, romantic looks, dance starts and affectionate gestures towards an audience that tonight It was mostly female.

“Where are the single women tonight? Where are the independent women tonight?” He shouted.

“Los infieles” and “Mi orazoncito”, accompanied by a shower of confetti, preceded the moment in which Santos hung from a harness to fly over the stadium with “Favorite Hero”, in whose chorus he disguises himself as Superman and Batman.

After the tango accordion that introduced “Indecent Proposal”, one of his most popular songs, Santos invited one of his fans to take the stage.

“Do you give me permission to do what I want tonight?” The artist asked his shy companion, who, after giving his approval, found himself suddenly kissing and “perreando” with Romeo Santos in front of thousands of people.

Thanks to “El farsante”, “Noche de sexo” and a short a cappella on a small stage in the middle of the fans, Santos faced with energy the final part of a night that closed in style with “Obsession” and ” Overdose”.

The concert, of more than two hours and with The Forum to overflow, will be repeated today in Los Angeles before Santos closes his tour in the United States, which has already visited cities like Miami or New York, with two recitals in San Diego and Oakland next week.

Next, Romeo Santos will cross the Atlantic to begin on April 30 in Malaga (Spain) his European tour, which will take him to Italy, Switzerland, France and England before recalling, again, in Spain with seven dates in cities such as Barcelona (May 17) or Madrid (May 19).
