Stephen Curry will miss two weeks due to a sprain in his right ankle

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will be out for at least two weeks after confirming he has a sprained right ankle.

An MRI done in Charlotte, where the team is located, did not show any structural damage and the Warriors expect to do another medical evaluation within two weeks.

“It was a silly move because I tried to look for a steal,” Curry said after last night’s Warriors game against the New Orleans Pelicans and won 115-125 visitors.

Curry reiterated that it was an action of “bad luck” to get caught with the shoe of E’Twaun (Moore) when he passed by and then felt a great pain and although he wanted to continue in the game he could not.

“I went to the dressing room to get ice and immediately start the whole rehabilitation process so I can recover as soon as possible,” said Curry, who finished the game with a double-double of 31 points and 11 assists.

His contribution was key to the comeback of the Warriors and after scoring five triples reached the 2,000 that made him the eighth player in the history of the NBA to get it.

The X-rays that took him after the game turned out to be negative, but Curry left the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans with a boot and crutches.

While the angle of the ankle twist shown by the television images was pronounced and severe.

Along with Curry’s absence, the Warriors also will not have for the game tomorrow, Wednesday, before the Charlotte Hornets reserve guard Patrick McCaw (bruise on the nose) and the Georgian center Zaza Pachilia (pain in the left shoulder).

The Warriors are 19-6, the second best in the Western Conference and leaders in the Pacific Division.
