Colombian Quiñones signs the triumph of Lobos over the leader of Monterrey

The Colombian Julián Quiñones signed the goal with which the Lopes BUAP defeated on Saturday 2-1 leader Monterrey, in the continuation of the sixteenth and penultimate day of the Mexican Apertura.

With the victory, the Wolves has 20 points and is, for the moment, in the eleventh position, while the Monterrey has 33 units in the first place, position that will not lose because the Tigers is second with 29.

The Colombian Aviles Hurtado put Monterrey ahead in the minute 2, the Mexican Diego Jiménez, of Lobos, scored the tie in the 44th and the Colombian Quiñones sentenced the triumph of the premises in the 82nd.

The goal of Hurtado happened in a fortuitous way. The goalkeeper of Lobos, the Uruguayan Lucero Álvarez, played the ball in short with a defense on the right side, Hurtado barely pressed on the play, the defender returned the ball to the goalkeeper and he cleared but the ball hit the body of the Colombian and went straight to the goal.

It was the tenth goal of Hurtado in the tournament, which is close to one of the leaders of the goalscorers, the Argentine Mauro Boselli, of the León, who went blank in the defeat of his team by 1-2 against Tijuana on Friday.

Lobos reacted by taking a free kick on the right. The ball came to the area, where Quiñones stood up to direct it to the second post, where Jiménez finished surpassing the stretch of the Argentine Juan Pablo Carrizo, goalkeeper of Monterrey.

In the goal of the triumph, the Lobos threw a corner on the left and after a series of rejections, the ball was at the feet of Quiñones, who practically over the penalty area defined down to beat Carrizo and sentence the win.

It was the ninth goal for Quiñones in the tournament.

At the start of the day, on Friday, the Cruz Azul won as a visitor by 1-2 at Morelia with a double from the Chilean Felipe Mora, while his compatriot Diego Valdés discounted by Morelia.

With the same score, Tijuana defeated the León 2-1. Argentineans Víctor Malcorra and Juan Martín Lucero scored for the locals and Chilean Juan Francisco Cornejo scored for the visitors.

The day will continue with the duels Pachuca-Querétaro, América-Puebla and Guadalajara-Atlas.
