Sandoval stops his run and hits home run against the White Sox

Venezuelan third baseman Pablo Sandoval ended a 0-of-39 streak when he hit a three-run homer in the San Francisco Giants’ 9-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox in the interleague series.

Sandoval (2) did it in the fourth inning to hit back all over the opener Lucas Giolito, with two runners ahead, when there were two outs in the episode.

The Venezuelan hit 1 of 3 and drove in four runs after his most recent unstoppable come August 25 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The win was credited by starter Matt Moore (5-13) in six innings and two-thirds, conceding five hits, home run and two runs.

For the White Sox, Venezuelan rider Avisail Garcia (15) struck back in the fourth against Moore’s work, with a runner ahead, with no outs in the inning.

The defeat was for Giolito (2-2) in five innings and a third, accepting three hits, home run and five runs.
