A nine-month-old pregnant woman was struck by lightning in southern Florida and taken to a hospital where she is in critical condition after giving birth to her son, media reported on Fort Myers.
The woman, 26-year-old Meghan Davidson, was struck by lightning on Thursday in the Whispering Palms neighborhood of Fort Myers on the southwest coast of Florida as she walked with her mother.
Davidson, a mother of three with her newborn baby, is in the intensive care unit of Lee Memorial Hospital, while the baby, whom they have called Owen, was taken to a pediatric hospital in the area.
The child’s condition, born seven years before his mother was released, has not been reported, according to the local NBC channel.
“We are praying for a miracle to happen,” Pastor Russell Howard, who heads the Baptist temple that the Davidson family attends, said Sunday.
