Starting pitcher Ivan Nova pitched seven innings and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 4-3.

Nova (7-4) had seven innings on the mound, allowed six hits, two homers and three runs, gave two passes and struck out six.

The Dominican defeated 27 enemies with 94 pitches, 64 of them were perfect and left at 2.91 his average effectiveness.
