5-4. Simmons gets grand slam and gives way to the Angels’ triumph

Short-sided innkeeper Andrelton Simmons hit a grand slam in the Los Angeles Angels’ 5-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Simmons (3) punished with a full back shot in the third episode when the home was full against opener Casey Lawrence’s pitches when there was an out in the inning.

Starter Tyler Skaggs (1-1) pitched seven innings, allowed seven hits, two runs, two walks and struck out four for the win.

The loss was for starter Casey Lawrence (0-2) in six innings and one-third, conceding eight hits, one homer and five runs.
