Florida Unites for Venezuela: Historic Solidarity Marathon Gathers Thousands of Donations

By the Staff of The Sun Post News.-

Kissimmee, Florida— What began as a call for solidarity ended up becoming one of the largest demonstrations of support from the Hispanic community of Central Florida for the Venezuelan people. Last Saturday, the 27th, the El Sol NetworkTV facilities hosted the Solidarity Marathon for Venezuela, a special five-hour broadcast that brought together journalists, community leaders, businesspeople, organizations, and hundreds of volunteers with a single purpose: to lend a hand to thousands of families affected by the devastating earthquake that recently struck Venezuela.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the cameras remained rolling continuously, broadcasting information, interviews, testimonials, and constant calls for solidarity. However, the activity at the collection center continued long after the program ended. The doors remained open until 5:00 p.m., allowing dozens of people to continue arriving with donations of non-perishable food, drinking water, hygiene products, medicine, clothing, diapers, baby formula, and other essential items.

The community’s response exceeded all expectations.

Throughout the day, private vehicles arrived one after another with boxes, bags, and supplies. Entire families, churches, non-profit organizations, business owners, and citizens of different nationalities decided to do their part to alleviate the suffering of thousands of Venezuelans.

At the end of the day, the collective effort resulted in filling more than twenty trucks loaded with humanitarian aid, which were then transported to distribution centers in Orlando, from where the logistics of delivering the supplies to the affected areas will begin.

A community united by a single cause

One of the most moving aspects of the event was seeing dozens of volunteers working side by side, sorting, packing, and organizing each of the donations.

Young people, senior citizens, entire families, and members of the El Sol NetworkTV team dedicated long hours to carefully preparing each box that would later be sent to logistics centers.

There were no political, religious, or cultural differences. There was only one common goal: to help.

An Unprecedented Television Campaign

The Solidarity Marathon was broadcast live on El Sol NetworkTV, reaching thousands of homes through:

ElSolNetworkTV.com
Roku TV
Fire TV
YouTube
Facebook
Instagram
LinkedIn
Twitch
and all the channel’s digital platforms.

The coverage allowed people inside and outside the United States to follow the day’s events minute by minute and join the aid campaign.

The broadcast also benefited from the important journalistic partnership of Somos Noticias TV, under the direction of journalist William Lugo, whose signal was integrated during the event to broaden the reach of the message of solidarity.

The collaboration of journalist Angie was also fundamental, contributing to the success of the coverage and the overall outreach effort.

The channel’s talent stepped up

The vast majority of El Sol NetworkTV’s on-air personalities and hosts actively participated throughout the special programming.

Each used their platform to motivate the audience, interview special guests, share information about the humanitarian emergency, and emphasize the importance of solidarity in times of crisis.

More than just a television broadcast, the marathon became a community gathering where communication served as a bridge between those who needed help and those willing to offer it.

Much more than a collection center

For several hours, the channel’s facilities ceased to be merely a television studio and transformed into a true humanitarian center.

The cameras constantly captured moving scenes: children delivering food, senior citizens carrying boxes, businesspeople making significant contributions, and volunteers forming human chains to organize hundreds of donations.

Each box represented a message of hope.

Each hug symbolized the unity of a community that understands that tragedies know no borders.

A lasting commitment to the community

For El Sol NetworkTV, this effort reaffirms its long-standing commitment to the Hispanic community of Florida and to social causes that require everyone’s participation.

The channel deeply thanked every volunteer, sponsor, community organization, church, business, and citizen who responded to the call.

They also acknowledged the tireless work of the technical staff, producers, journalists, camera operators, and on-air talent who made over five hours of uninterrupted coverage possible.

Solidarity continues

Although the Solidarity Marathon officially concluded on Saturday afternoon, the message remains relevant.

The needs of thousands of Venezuelan families remain immense, so the organizers reiterated that they will continue to support humanitarian initiatives aimed at those affected.

The events of this Saturday offered a powerful lesson: when a community decides to unite for a just cause, solidarity becomes a mighty force capable of crossing any border.

The Solidarity Marathon for Venezuela not only succeeded in gathering thousands of essential supplies; it also demonstrated that hope travels in every box, with every volunteer, and through every person who chose to help without expecting anything in return.

For when pain strikes a people, solidarity has the power to lift them up.
