The Republican magnate criticizes the former Democratic president for revealing “classified information”
US President Donald Trump on Thursday ordered his administration to begin “identifying and releasing government files related to extraterrestrial life” and other related phenomena, just days after former President Barack Obama (2009-2017) claimed to believe that aliens “are real” but had not seen them.
“In view of the great interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War—referring to the head of the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth—and other relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” Trump announced on social media.
The White House occupant has extended the directive to “any other related information” on a matter he described as “so complex, but extremely interesting and important.”
The announcement comes just hours after he criticized Obama for his remarks, claiming that “he revealed classified information, he shouldn’t have done that.” “I don’t know if they’re real or not, but I can tell you that he revealed classified information,” he asserted aboard Air Force One, emphasizing that the former Democratic president “made a big mistake” by speaking that way.
Obama participated in a podcast last weekend in which he was asked if he believed in the existence of aliens. “They’re real. But I haven’t seen them. They’re not at Area 51. There’s no underground facility—unless there’s a huge conspiracy and they’ve hidden it from the President of the United States,” he stated.
