The Punta Espada golf course held the traditional invitational golf tournament in its tenth edition to benefit the Forjando un Futuro Foundation on October 21 and 22, in which players Scott Mruczkowski and Tim Ford were winners of the cup for the best score Total tournament gross with 59 net clubs.
The event was framed in the celebration of the 20 years of the Destination City, in which 200 national and international players took the field by shotgun.
The Cap Cana Golf Cup premiered on this occasion dedicated to Italian culture in gratitude to the owners and business partners of the destination city, for which it had the special presence of Stefano Queirolo, Italian ambassador to the Dominican Republic.
The Spanish ambassador in the Dominican Republic, Antonio Pérez Hernández, and the Spanish consul in the Dominican Republic, Pablo Gómez de Olea, also met.
Under the Scramble in pairs modality, the winners of Category A were Antonio Olivo and Patrick Hafner in first place; Annie Purcell and Troy Farmer in the second position; while Freddy Rodríguez and William Melo in third place.
In category B, the first position was won by Ángel González and Julio Barranco; Arístides Ramírez and José Llop in second place; and Mario Abreu together with Raúl Rosario, in third place.
Category C was led by Alan Paiewonsky and Daniel Pérez, first place winners; while Claudio González and Pascualino Diteodoro occupied the second position. Third place went to Miguel Rodríguez and Virgilio de Pool.
An additional category of ladies this year was recognized on this occasion as Anne Purcell and Cindy Grider emerged victorious with a net 70 clubs.
Other special prizes were Closets to the pin on hole 7 and hole 16 for Stevie Thompson; Longest Drive on Hole 6 for Mike Blick and on Hole 15 for Scott Mruczkowski.
Accompanied by very sunny weather, the players enjoyed the excellent conditions of the Punta Espada golf course outdoors, making possible with their participation and donations the social and educational projects carried out by the Forjando un Futuro Foundation.
