The bodies of two nieces of the first lady of Paraguay found in the collapsed building in Florida

The Paraguayan Foreign Ministry confirmed this Sunday the discovery of two nieces of the first lady of Paraguay, Silvana López Moreira, found among the remains of the residential building that collapsed at the end of last month in Florida (USA).

“The MRE, with deep pain, regrets to report that the bodies of the two minors who disappeared in the collapse in Miami-Dade (county in Florida), USA, have been recovered and identified yesterday (for Saturday),” the Ministry has communicated. on his Twitter account.

Last Thursday, rescuers found first lady Sophia López Moreira’s sister dead, as well as her husband, Luis Pettengill, and their youngest son. The authorities expressed their condolences to the Pettengill-López Moreira family “for such a sad loss.”

Paraguayan President Mario Abdo and the first lady, Silvana López Moreira, traveled to the United States on Friday to accompany and mourn the relatives who died in the collapse.

The family of the Paraguayan first lady owned an apartment in the Champlain Towers South building, which collapsed at dawn on June 24 in the city of Surfside. On Saturday, the confirmed dead were 86, of which 62 were identified; while another 43 people are reported missing.
