The coronavirus pandemic borders on 465,000 deaths and 8.8 million infections worldwide

The pandemic of the new coronavirus originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has registered a total of 127,000 cases in the last 24 hours, a relative decrease from 174,000 this Saturday, bringing the total to almost 8.8 million people infected and almost 465,000 fatalities, according to the latest balance from Johns Hopkins University.

According to data updated at 9:00 am this Sunday, the global balance of the coronavirus amounts to 8.79 million cases and 464,492 fatalities in 188 countries and territories. The total number of people recovered exceeds 4.36 million, with the United States at the top of the list, with 617,470 people cured.

The United States continues to be the country most affected by the pandemic with 2.25 million people infected and 119,719 fatalities, after registering 32,500 cases in the last 24 hours.

Brazil remains in second position with 1,032,913 infections and 49,976 deaths. Russia remains in third position, with 576,162 positives and 7,992 deaths.

INDIA EXCEEDS 400,000 CONTACTS
In fourth position, India has already exceeded 400,000 infections and registers 13,254 deaths, after once again beating its record in the daily balance with 15,400 cases in the last 24 hours. Then, the United Kingdom registers 304,580 infected people and 42,674 deaths, ahead of Peru, which already exceeds Spain by number of cases, with 251,338 and 7,861 compared to the 245,938 affected and 28,322 deaths confirmed by the Spanish Government.

Italy has 238,275 people with coronaviruses and 34,610 fatalities, followed by Chile, which accumulates 236,748 infected and 4,295 deaths. Subsequently, Iran already accumulates more than 200,000 cases (202,584) cases and 9,507 deaths; France, with 196,724 infections and 29,636 fatalities, and by Germany, which registered 190,670 infections and 8,895 deaths.

Turkey has 186,493 people with coronaviruses and 4,927 deaths, followed by Pakistan, with 176,617 cases and 3,501 deaths, and Mexico, with 175,202 infected and 20,781 deaths.

Closing the group of more than 100,000 infections are Saudi Arabia, with 154,233 infected and 1,230 dead, Bangladesh, with 108,775 sick and 1,425 fatalities, and Canada, with 102,762 cases and 8,466 deaths.

Below the 100,000 positives, South Africa, with 92,681 cases and 1,877 deaths; Qatar, with 86,488 cases and 94 deaths, and China, the country in which the pandemic originated, accumulates 84,553 cases with 4,638 deaths.

For its part, Colombia surpasses Belgium with 63,454 infections and 2,148 deaths, compared to 60,550 cases and 9,696 deaths declared by the Belgian Government. Belarus, which accumulates 57,936 infections and 343 fatalities, Sweden and Egypt close the list of countries with more than 50,000 cases, with 56,043 infected and 5,053 deaths and 53,758 cases and 2,106 deaths, respectively.

Exceeding the 40,000 positives are Ecuador, the Netherlands, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Argentina, while Kuwait, Portugal, Ukraine, Poland and Switzerland accumulate more than 30,000 cases.

For their part, the Philippines, Iraq, Oman, Afghanistan, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, Panama, Romania, Bolivia, Bahrain and Israel exceed 20,000 coronavirus positives, ahead of Nigeria, Armenia, Japan, Austria, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ghana, Serbia, Guatemala, Denmark, South Korea, Honduras, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Cameroon and the Czech Republic, which have more than 10,000 infections.

Morocco exceeds 9,000 cases and Norway, Nepal, Sudan and Malaysia have more than 8,000 positives. Next, Australia, Ivory Coast and Finland exceed 7,000 cases; Uzbekistan has more than 6,000 and Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tajikistan and Haiti exceed 5,000 positives.
