YouTube has begun to launch its conversational ‘chatbot’ with Artificial Intelligence (AI), capable of carrying out functions such as answering questions about content related to the theme of the video being viewed, which is now available for users subscribed to YouTube Premium in the United States.
The Google platform introduced this AI-powered feature in November of last year, with the aim of improving the viewing experience by offering information of interest to users, as well as showing recommendations for content related to the videos being viewed. However, it was a new feature in testing.
Now, YouTube has announced the launch of its ‘chatbot’ with conversational AI, so that users subscribed to YouTube Premium can already begin to use it to delve deeper into the content, ask questions or get recommendations.
In this sense, it is a ‘chatbot’ with which users can interact while watching a video, without having to pause playback. Simply click on the ‘Ask about this video’ tab to display a chat from which to make requests or questions.
Thus, through this chat, users will be able to ask questions related to the video being viewed to expand information on the topics discussed or to obtain specific data mentioned. As a result, the chatbot will return the requested information in a summarized form.
For example, if it is a video about a cooking recipe, users will be able to directly ask what ingredients and quantities they need to carry out the recipe, and they will obtain a detailed list with said information.
Likewise, this conversational ‘chatbot’ also allows you to request questions such as summarizing the content of the video or obtaining recommendations for related content on the platform.
For the moment, YouTube has launched its conversational AI tool for users with a subscription to the Premium version in the United States, and it is only available for devices with the Android operating system. Likewise, it has not specified when it will begin to be deployed in the rest of the countries.
