The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled on Monday that US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. can appear on the ballot in the state of Michigan despite the fact that the politician had suspended his campaign for the November elections, in which he was running as an independent candidate, and showed his support for former President Donald Trump.
The court has indicated that Kennedy has not “shown that he has the right” to withdraw his ballot, thus reversing the decision of an appeals court that had allowed it, according to the American television network CNN.
This decision has to do with the refusal of the president of the Natural Law Party, Doug Dern, to allow the withdrawal of Kennedy, who had previously been nominated to run in the state through the aforementioned party.
Despite Kennedy’s small percentage of support, these numbers could be key in deciding the outcome in a state as close as Michigan, where polls show a difference of just four percent between Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump.
