Former police officer convicted of George Floyd’s murder stabbed in prison

Chauvin is currently simultaneously serving a sentence of 22 and a half years in prison for second and third degree murder and another of more than 20 years for violating the federal civil rights of George Floyd when he pressed his knee on the African American citizen’s neck for more than nine minutes, causing his death.
