The Czech tennis player Marketa Vondrousova, winner of the Wimbledon tournament, has risen to tenth place from 42nd place in the WTA ranking, which continues with the Polish Iga Swiatek as leader and in which Paula Badosa, in thirty-fourth place, is the best placed Spanish.
Last Saturday the Czech tennis player Marketa Vondrousova was crowned the new queen of Wimbledon after defeating the Tunisian Jabeur in the final by a double 6-4. This triumph helps Vondrousova to get her first ‘Grand Slam’ title and reach her best historical position in the WTA ranking (10th place), with 3,106 points.
The classification continues to be led by Iga Swiatek (9,315 points), who leads the Belarusian Sabalenka by 470 points, second in the ranking with 8,845 points. And the Kazakh Elena Rybakina remains third, with 5,465 points.
The positions from 4th to 7th respectively occupied by the American Jessica Pegula, the French Caroline García, the Tunisian Ons Jabeur and the American Coco Gauff did not experience any change either. The Czech Republic Petra Kvitova rises to eighth place, with the Greek Sakkari and Vondrousova as ninth and tenth.
Paula Badosa is the first Spanish in the WTA ranking at number 34, with 1,302 points. The second round reached at Wimbledon has helped the Catalan to move up one position compared to last week. Rebeka Masarova (72), Cristina Bucsa (81) and Sara Sorribes (85) are the other Spanish tennis players in the world Top 100.
