The ultranationalist representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced this Thursday that she is planning the collection of articles for a possible future political trial against the president of the United States, Joe Biden, for allegedly violating his oath by not defending the country’s borders.
Thus, the Republican representative for the state of Georgia has confirmed her “intention to present articles of impeachment” against the leader of an Administration that she considers to be following a “Last America” policy, in clear contrast to the motto of former President Donald Trump, who defended a policy of ‘America first’ (America first, in Spanish).
For Greene, the Biden Administration “has been working since January 20, 2021 to systematically destroy to destroy the country”, and considers that the president has violated his constitutional oath to defend the country’s borders by lifting Title 42, approved by Trump during the coronavirus health emergency and that allowed the immediate expulsions of migrants.
The Republican representative already threatened a similar announcement the day before against the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, and against the attorney general of the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves. In addition, she threatened to do the same against the United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, and the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
The White House, for its part, has described these threats as a “trick” and has defended that President Biden is focused on “avoiding” the financial collapse caused, according to Washington, by members of the Republican Party, according to the website The Hill news.
This would not be the first time that Greene has filed articles of impeachment against Biden, as she already did so on the first day of the current president’s term. In addition, she also filed articles against Garland in August 2022 after the FBI searched Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, Florida mansion for classified documents.
Greene is one of the main leaders of the ‘hard wing’ of the Republican Party and is also recognized for defending former President Trump and his MAGA ideology (‘Make America Great Again’, translated into Spanish as ‘Make America Great Again’), adopted by much of American ultranationalism and supremacism.
