Peruvian justice denies Keiko Fujimori’s request to travel to Madrid

A Peruvian judge has rejected the request of the former Peruvian presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori to travel to Madrid, taking refuge in the process in which she is accused of crimes of illegal financing of her electoral campaigns in 2011 and 2016, for which she could be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment. prison.

Judge Víctor Zúñiga Urday has declared unfounded the request of the leader of Fuerza Popular to travel to Spain from January 22 to 27 to participate in an academic activity to which she was invited by Javier Cremades García, president of the World Law Foundation (WLF ).

The former presidential candidate faces criminal proceedings for the alleged crimes of money laundering and others under a mandate to appear with restrictions subject to rules of conduct, including the prohibition to leave the place where she resides in Metropolitan Lima without judicial authorization.

Judge Zúñiga already warned Fujimori on December 5 for not having adequately informed about the details of a trip to attend an academic activity in the United Kingdom.
