Arts Connection and the Fuentes Angarita Collection
participate in the Clandestine Fair of Miami

The Arts Connection Foundation and the Fuentes Angarita Collection are present with three creative proposals that participate in the Clandestine Fair, which takes place from December 1 to 4 at the iconic 7 Seas Motel, located at 5940 Biscayne Blvd. Miami 33137. It is a fair that breaks the traditional schemes, by taking place in the headquarters of an old roadside hotel, where each artist is exhibited in a room.
One proposal is in room 102, it is from the international artist collective “Food of War”, to raise the relationship between food and conflict. We find works by Omar Castañeda, Hernán Barros and Andreina Fuentes Angarita, to show Simón Bolívar on hunger strike, the Constitution with teeth and bullets, the symbols of the Banana Republic of America and the vertical chicken coop. Likewise, “Miss Wynwood” participates, a symbol of the city of Miami who wants a Free Cuba and moves between the waters of Democrats and Republicans, represented by Obama and Trump; as well as a segment of the work “La Última Cena”, by the artist Andreina Fuentes Angarita.
In room 103 are the works of the Venezuelan artist Nelson González with the proposal “Between Two Waters” (Between two waters), which addresses the problem of migration. Nelson González has just won the contest organized by the government of El Doral, for the construction of the monument dedicated to the Migrant and that will be presented in mid-December, within the framework of the international day of the migrant.
In the same room 103, the video “Documenta Meta Fluxus” is also presented, produced by Muu Blanco to show the multimedia event Metafluxus, which took place last month at the Id Art Lab headquarters, under the curatorship of Félix Suazo and Domingo Rosario de Lucía. The artists Ilan Arvelo, Muu Blanco, Iván Castillo Lagrange, Diego Damas, Domingo De Lucia, Alexandra De Yavorsky, Andreina Fuentes Angarita & Elaiza Irizarry, Andrés Michelena, Luis Alberto Molina, and Eduardo Molina participate in Metafluxus. The experience is made up of 10 proposals that combine space, time, body, object and technology.
The artist Andreina Fuentes Angarita, also director of Arts Connection, invited the Florida community to visit this alternative fair, which takes place in the context of Art Basel. “The curious thing about this type of fair is that it breaks the traditional schemes of contemporary art exhibitions. The audience and collectors are bored and tired of the same thing, even more so when we consider that Art Basel Miami Beach celebrates its 20th year in the city,” she said.
Clandestina was founded by Nuria Richards in 2019, as a collateral art initiative and is a participation channel for artists, galleries and independent projects.
