The National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, INDRHI, announced that it will participate in the thirty-eighth Inter-American Congress of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering that will take place from November 13 to 17 of this year in Punta Cana and that it will have the presence of institutions and companies from the sector. Potable Water and Sanitation of AIDIS member countries as well as other continents.
The event entitled “Challenges of Post-Pandemic and Climate Change Sanitary and Environmental Management: A Commitment for Everyone” organized through the local team that is the Dominican Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ADIS), has the support of the executive power whose The opening agenda will be marked with the participation of President Luis Abinader, who motivated the unity in this event of national organizations belonging to the water cabinet and institutions that make up the health cabinet as an action framed within the 2030 National Development Strategy.
Olmedo Caba Romano, executive director of the water body, highlighted the relevance of the topic to be developed in order to jointly work on collaboration proposals, since he indicates “it is the responsibility of all the institutions that work in the water sector to achieve efficient management of our systems ”. The official will present a keynote speech scheduled for Monday the 14th starting at 3:30 in the afternoon where he will address the issue of “Water Security for the Sustainability of the APS Sector” (drinking water and sanitation).
The INDRHI will also have the participation of Juan Francisco Saldaña, director of Planning and Institutional Development, who will be speaking on Tuesday 15 on “Hydrological planning as an instrument of Integrated Water Resources Management.”
It should be noted that the president of ADIS, José Infante, was received by Olmedo Caba last September at the INDRHI facilities where the details of the event were discussed.
