Colombia is the guest of honor at the 2022 Seoul International Book Fair, under the slogan “Colombia: creative, diverse and fraternal”, which runs from June 1 to 5 with a sample of 27 works by Colombian authors translated into Korean .
The Colombian Ministry of Culture reported that it is also presenting 11 additional translated titles at this fair where it “seeks to highlight the literature and the natural and cultural wealth of our nation through talks, conferences and different artistic exhibitions.”
This participation is the opportunity to “make visible the talent of Colombian writers and artists, for the first time in a book fair on the Asian continent, as well as to promote investment in the cultural and creative industry in the country.”
On this occasion “we will have important exponents of literature, music, the literary industry, audiovisual production and artistic samples of the Carnival of Blacks and Whites and the muralism of our country.”
In addition, we have “worked to translate Colombian literature into the Korean language and make an objective selection of ours to show the best of Colombian culture, with a diverse representation of the different regions of the country,” said the Minister of Culture, Angélica Mayolo Obregón.
