A run over during a Christmas parade in the state of Wisconsin, in the United States, has killed at least five people and injured more than 40, several of them minors, according to police authorities.
At around 4:40 p.m. (local time) this Sunday, a red vehicle has burst into the celebration of a Christmas parade in the city of Waukesha, running over dozens of people.
The city’s Police Department has explained in a post on its social networks that it has in custody a person suspected of having been the author of the mass outrage.
In addition, they have pointed out that many people have traveled by their own means to hospitals in the area, so the data on the injured and deceased may vary as more information is collected.
Thus, the area where the incident occurred will remain closed to traffic, although the Police have asked that when normality is declared again in the place, a temporary memorial be installed in the Veterans Park to pay tribute to the deceased .
“Many people have witnessed traumatic events tonight,” they have acknowledged from the Police Department, which has set up a contact telephone number for those who need psychological assistance.
White House sources have told CNN that the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has been informed of the incident.
