Woman investigated for an alleged attempt to sell Pelosi’s computer to Russia arrested

The United States Department of Justice confirmed on Tuesday the arrest of Riley Jone Williams, the woman investigated by the US Federal Police (FBI) for the possible intention to sell Russia the laptop of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.

The investigated woman is in the custody of Pennsylvania authorities, according to the website of the United States Department of Justice. Last Monday, in an affidavit of the case to which the Politico news portal had access, it was indicated that the investigated “seemed that she had fled.”

In that same document, it is recorded that a witness has told the authorities that he had seen a video of Williams “taking a laptop or a hard disk from Pelosi’s office” and “that Williams intended to send it to a friend in Russia to sell it to the SVR, the Russian secret services abroad. “

According to the news daily The Hill, Pelosi’s chief of staff, Drew Hammill, has said that one of the computers in his office is missing after the riots but it remains unknown if it is the same laptop that Williams apparently stole.
